1. The Lincoln Lawyer

In the first book of the series, Michael Connelly introduced us to Mickey Haller, a moderate successful defence attorney working on a case involving a playboy from Beverly Hills, arrested for attacking a woman.
The case appeared to be a very simple one, but quickly turns into a nightmare, and Mickey Haller has to fight to save his own life.
An adaptation featuring actor Matthew McConaughey and directed by Brad Furman was released in 2011.

Things start to work out for defence attorney Mickey Haller, back in the courtroom to defend Walter Elliott, accused of murdering his wife and her lover after finding them togheter in a Malibu beach house.
Mickey is informed that Hollywood lawyer Jerry Vincent was murdered, found shot to death in his car. Mickey Haller was nominated as his second and will be in charge of all of his cases, more than 30, including Walter Elliot.
Connelly’s ability to create complex plots is even more evident in this second book of the Mickey Haller’s series. In The Brass Verdict we see the appearance of detective Bosch, protagonist of Michael Connelly Series Bosch Universe.
A 10 episode tv series inspired to this novel was released in 2022, it is available on Netflix.
3. The Reversal

In the third book of the Mickey Haller series, The Reversal, our Lincoln Lawyer agrees to prosecute Jason Jessep.
Jessep was released from prison after new DNA evidence found out there are not certain proves that the man was guilty of the murder of a twelve-year-old girl twenty-six years earlier.
In this book the character development is rich, the writing crispy, full of twists and turns. Plus, Haller is assisted by Detective Bosch. Once again, a must read Michael Connelly book.
4. The Fifth Witness

In this book, Haller is called to defend Lisa Trammel, an old client who is accused of murder. He suspect she is actually guilty, there is a good amount of moral dilemma that leads to an exciting court room battle.
As all the books in Mickey Haller Series will find the reader not wanting to put the novel down.

A prostitute is murdered, Mickey Haller found out she was a former client. He was convinced to have saved her but discovers she was back to her old life and he might be the cause of it.
As the title suggest, a lot of guilt and self blame are involved, together with the realistic and perfectly pitched legal drama.
6. The Law of Innocence

In this final book of the Mickey Haller Series, the lawyer himself is accused of murder. Arrested by the police who finds a body in his car and unable to pay the huge bail, he elects to defend himself.
He knows he was framed, and with the help of his half-brother, Harry Bosch, he has to fight for his freedom against the damning evidence.
A masterpiece, one of the best courtroom dramas I have ever read.
